    Rubix's New Daily JZX100 Chaser

Right folks, I thought I'd create my project thread for possibly the worst kept secret ever! My car will finally on a boat and land in the UK mid May. Here are some quick shots I have:

Its a pretty stock 2001 car which is what I was looking for. I wanted a nice clean base to start from and enjoy.

I have been ordering some bits and pieces in prep for its arrival but I'm holding off on anymore bits until I get it here, pay all the taxes, get an alarm and give it its service. I'm hoping there us enough in the pot for a cheeky PowerFC D Jethro

So we have my new private plate, a 1080p Dashcam and a 350mm Nardi Deep Corn wheel

And besides the needless dress up bits I have used my sensible head somewhat and ordered a bunch of OEM parts from Toyota to give the car a serious service upon arrival. I acutally managed to save over £200 buying all of this from NZ!

    Plan
I want to make the car a fun, fast but comfortable daily as I will have my daughter in it a lot. I am also getting married next year too so the mod funding pot is going elsewhere right now. My final goal is to refresh the interior with some modern touches (touch screen head unit, decent seats, some sutble retrimming), then get the power up with a GTX3076R and all appropriate mods, then some decent suspension mods and Supra TT front brakes setup. I'll no doubt do a little drifting in it, but currently my focus is on fast road and the odd track day.

    Roll on Mid May

Yeah, a V8 would have sounded epic but no mad choo choo noises to make me giggle like a child

So hard to be sensible and not blow cashing on go faster bits!! Must hold out until all the top priority items are sorted like Import Tax/MOT/Service/Alarm/DVLA shit.... also need to get my smart head on and invest in bits like a clutch/brakes/tyres before major parts.

Looks awesome, gives you a rare chance for an "is it here yet?" Moment as an adult too!

Looking forward to a build thread bud

Yeah, I had bid on a few others but I won this one. I kept missing out on a really sweet blue. There are more black ones in the UK anyway. It's a white Pearl too :-)

Looking good, I do fancy one some day.
The boat wait is a nightmare though especially if you are following the gps tracking and seeing it dock at every bloody port.

Thought I should post some shots of the car before it was loaded onto the boat.

As you can see from above, the engine is pretty much stock (with OEM Air Box ).

Not intending to put a downer on things but keep an eye on that radiator, from experience with MX5's when they go that tan/brown colour they have had it and start to crack.

Cheers for the heads up. I have been looking out for an alternative anyway as I don't think the stock will like any track work.

Congrats on the car! Hope it is a clean as it looks!

I will 2nd that advice on the rad, my aristo had a similar colour rad and it was on the verge of going kabloom.

Always had a soft spot for the JZX100's and would love one!

Well car has finally arrived after a long wait. I got it brought up to my mate's garage (PLUG http://dynatune.co.uk/ PLUG)

Have some bits and pieces to do so I can get it road legal as it arrived with some very bald rear tyres LOL. Also, its ****ing loud as your'll see by the exhaust pics below.

Also, need to sort out some body work issues. Some I thought were less major but body work is not the worse thing in the world.

Did a quick compression test and it looks all good, possibly sticky valve but will know soon enough. Also found its got some Tein Flex coilovers

Got mods sitting ready to go in too... some Evo 7/8 Recaros
