Yeah springs and a ras kit are 100% required as far as i am concerned as it was valve bounce that ultimately killed my SR ... er the first time around..cough...

That’s cool I already have every thing but I have a spare built engine 90% done on a stand in the garage so just some thing for now.

Opinions vary, but I never took my standard engine above 1.2bar on a 2871, i went forged engine, MHG, etc and OS Giken box to run higher boost. I also had 740 injectors. Component limits are not always exactly like for like, and it's playing percentages i agree, but the more power you put through standard parts the more you increase chance of failure.
I prefer to do something once, and do it properly, i find that is also more cost effective longer term
Also, if you are close to HDev you are going to struggle to beat Jez for sx knowledge, i'd go nistune and take Jez's advice.

Is Jez at Horsham ??

yes Jez owns HDev i think, and has one of the greatest knowledges on the SX, I have driven down from the northwest several times for his work and mapping, so it's a no brainer if you are that close I've had good advice and tuning services from there for over 15 years, as have many of this forum.
There are different specialists in different regions, I've travelled about and used most of them over last 25 years.

Just be aware people in America are having a lot of trouble with tomei’s new 258 poncams
Going to keep standard cams and just see where I am with what I have it barley gets used and want it reliable

Make sure to do the springs n ras though, really really make sure...
But if you get stiff springs your vvt will most likely start to rattle very quickly.
You don't need cams for 400.
H-Dev do bespoke mapping.
A Power FC may be old, but it is an inexpensive and reliable way of achieving good figures.
Pick your tuner and then an ECU to suit them. Better an average ECU with a great tuner than a great ECU with an average tuner.
Two things,
H-Dev isn't in Horsham any more, but definitely worth the drive, I'm from Sussex too and drove down there to get mine mapped by them.
I have some 740cc injectors for sale if you need any, they have been professionally cleaned and I brought them from H-Dev when they mapped it. I'm now running 1000cc injectors.
Haven’t they been at their current location since 2010ish?

Errrm... Horsham is Jez's surname guys, never the location for his garage .
Wish it was, as closer to me than he is now...
