Spectacular build!
Any updates?
So you have only the SC but no turbo?
Can you kindly post some more pics of the installation process?

dyno video,dyno video!!!
Yes, the engine is running without turbo.
I'll see if there are some more pics on my PC at home but I don't think it will be a lot.
I'll post them next weekend or so.
There was no video made of the dyno session. It was not that exiting TBH.
With a turbo you can hear the power kicking in from a certain engine speed but here the torque curve is rather flat and smooth.
On the road it feels like a naturally aspirated 3 liter engine.
BTW you have PM
any pics and help would be appreciated I'm thinking of mounting an sc14 in place of the A/C
I greatly recommend Corky Bell's book Supercharged.
Do you have the specs of the SC14? It would be useful to know the max RPM the device may have...
Are you sure it fits in the A/C space? I had to move the PAS pump to free some space.
Modelling is easier if you have a spare lump on an engine stand
unfortunately, I have no clue I've decided to give up on this idea < ca18det with a/c, turbo and p/s
just noticed the picture lol
is it anyhow possible to retain the a/c using an eaton m62?
Keeping the a/c leaves almost no space in the S13 shell.
Unless you consider cutting a hole in the bonnet I'm afraid it will not be possible to add such a large accessory.
I'm currently reworking the setup to make place for a larger blower.
PAS pump will come back in its original position, alternator will take the place of the a/c pump.
How often do you need a/c in Austria anyway
I think I should PM you, instead of leaving silly messages in your thread
I was wondering for a long time if M45 is big enough or I should go bigger. Your experience proves that I was right getting an M62. I hope I'll be able to fit it soon.
How do you compare the throttle response vs turbo motor? Is it revving much slower? Here I mean the negative effect of spinning the charger itself as I understand that when on revs the boost is instant.
Get on with this build!!
Want to see you bringing it to the Ring meet
I did not choose the M45, its he that choose me
You'll get much more out the M62 indeed.
The M45 would be a good charger to put on a 1.8 NA engine but it was a good opportunity for me to gain some experience on the toppic.
I can't realy compare the revving because I have a flywheel that is lighter than stock but as an overall opinion I'd say the response is not at all worse than with the turbo.
That's quite a trip with a trailer
When's that meet?
Zolder is 43km for me so you'll have much more chance to find me there
I'm currently preparing for a setup with some more capacity
PAS pump will come back to stock position. Alternator will be swapped to the left side of the engine.
Oil filter will be placed remotely. Heat exchanger was not in use anymore so I'll ditch that one too. Currently making a flange for the oil take-off from the engine, one that can be mounted to the engine with the four bolts that used to hold the heat exchanger.
After all that, I will have plenty of space underneath the plenum
tasty. so free'in up space under the plenum to mount the s/c therefore returning the turbo to its original postition giving you a twin-charged S13??
Twin charge would be very special, and give you a even more unique sounding S13
I've thought long and hard about compound charging the truck but really just need to get it running first...
A bit of update about the small progress till now.
Oilfilter has been relocated and heat exchanger deleted.
As seen from under the car:
and from above:
More to come during summer
Ok, so then I'll have someone to compete with
I decided to go flat out as well and twincharge the CA but I started from the other end and fitted a top mount turbo first. There's loads of space underneath it to work on but I'll be glad to see what can be fitted under inlet mani.
I had it bit harder though as my starting point was a non turbo s14 silvia which got the best motor available in the shed - the mighty CA My turbo is TD05-16g from EVO. The supercharger I chose is an EATON M62:
It has a built-in bypass butterfly and a huge back section that's not so good.
Actually, wait a sec I'll find the pic of under the exhaust mani I used:
It'll be fun to find out which way works best
Never noticed this topic, but it's really a stunning work !
Where from Belgium are you ?
