From my experience, far worse. If you fail to start moving in the Monaro, you aren't going anywhere. I got stuck on a flat, damp field this spring as it tried to burrow it's way home deep into the mud Last Christmas I managed 330 miles up to Scotland and then got stuck yards from the lodge I was staying in, in a snow drift no more than 6 inches deep

I had that issue in the SX when it snowed, so looks like I will be screwed should it come down heavy while I'm out!

What happens with the TC turned on? Large amounts of nothing as it just cuts the power?

It just gives up. It bleeps at you a lot and flashes a warning on the dash that you have a brake malfunction

Define commuting distance? Hop on the train and go to sleep for a few hours and wake up in London? Yup! know people who do this. Drive to work from here to London every day? Umm. Not really. Its about 175 to 200 miles (depending of exactly where you start, finish and what route you take - A30/A303/M3 or M5/M4) Either way, its about 3 hours 30 mins. Theoretically one could do it but would you want to use a tank of fuel a day?

BTW, pic from yesterday outside my shop:

Today is exactly the same but with some aeroplane contrails from Exeter Airport.

Snowing, but not sticking here in Swansea!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

heh, I'm itching to test the Lexus in the snow... the Merc was surprisingly good considering it was a low powered automatic heavy bastard... in fact in the snow was I think the only time I actually enjoyed driving the damn thing...

I'm now REALLY regretting selling the skoda though, that was just awesome in the snow....

I wonder what my sx will be like in the snow? I took my 318is out in the snow last year and it was fun drifting around snowy car parks spraying snow everywhere, I got to 135mph in a car park but wasn't actually moving

SX's in the snow? I would think after the snow it will be fit for the scrapyard
To get any traction you have to fill the tank to the brim and fill the boot up with a load of crap

I will miss the snow in the sx again this year as its still not moving.
Shame, wanted to try it with some tweaks to the back end, heavy weight in the boot and the RLTC with a snow program
