Question What should I put in my Double DIN slot???

My S14 Silvia has got a huge gap in the console with an empty double DIN slot. The previous owner probably had some serious sounds installed in it, but all I got was a crap standard Nissan unit which doesn't even work with UK frequencies. Also have some decent-ish looking Pioneer "Carrozzeria" speakers in there.

I don't want to spend a lot of cash on the stereo, its hardly worth it anyway as the car is so damn noisy! Any suggestions of double DIN stereos or anything else that could go in there?

    Cheers

    Cool

Why don't you just buy a standard single din size stereo for the top slot and reserve the one underneath for a panel which you can mount gauges in?

You've finally got the car, congratulations!

What do you mean it's noisy?

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you get a blanking plate from anywhere or does it have to come from Nissan.

As for the noise, it probably has something to do with the massive straight through exhaust with 5inch tailpipe Also I think it has a dump valve of some sort fitted. I've yet to fully look into the engine bay and all that as I've been busy cleaning the rest of the car. It was in auction condition and had 6 months of dust and crap all over it

I know a few girls that could put somewhere, but you wouldn't want it in your car afterwards

A chicken and bacon club sandwich would fit quite nicely in there I reckon

Sorry, forgot to mention about getting a Blitz Din Panel. It's got cut outs for mounting a Boost Gauge and Turbo Timer.

I believe the panel is about £20, Gauge is £65 and TT about £80.

    Question

    papa

If you're interested, I'm selling the Sony head unit and CD changer that I took out of my 200 when I upgraded it. You'll need to buy the "BUS" cable that goes between the units cos it's wired within the "loom" of the car itself. I think it's still worth £100 though, what dya reckon?

Far too many mods to list here, it takes up far too much space and after being asked very nicely I've decided to shorten the sig (Is that a WOOHOO I hear??)

Gosh darn it, I've only just noticed your post Dan! Head unit and changer for £100? I'd have had it off you mate. Thing is I got a JVC package installed yesterday for only thrice that price. Still, I'm not bitter..........
