i reckon it will be hard on the syncros
as you be changing so quick it will wear them
    out quicker.

also driving with a sequential box on the road is
    harder than you think.
ie stopping at the line in a higher gear.

    trust me i have driven a mk5 rs2000 rally
car on the road but it was hard to remember to change
back down to first to pull away

They have a gear selection light so it shouldnt be too difficult to work out what gear your in

    Ninja,

Whos that then? These are £650 in Japan. Unless hes been over and brought one back in a bag to avoid taxes and shipping costs.

To be honest I can't imagine anything more annoying than this shifter. Imagine you want to drop from 5th to 3rd, you'd have to depress the clutch twice and shift twice as it doesn't let you make 2 changes at once. That would do my head in...

Why would you need to press the clutch twice? Id have thought you could be rolling and press the clutch and go from 5th to first in one go couldnt you?

Yeah, I'm with you on this Ben. I honestly don't think you could shift any quicker than I could full throttle shift with the normal shifter. Don't forget I'm still making boost while shifting

Read this review, its near the bottom.

    http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread/t-14454.html

    Here's the quote:

Here is the impression from Michael Lui: "This sequential kit from Ikeya Formula is slightly different from "real" racing sequential tranny. Basically, this kit utilized some bearing and a specially designed mechanism to have a Push/Pull shifter to fit on the stock "H" shape shifting path. Therefore, you still have to step on the clutch to make it work (unlike racing tranny). It require more strength to shift. Due to the shorter shifting distance, it should reduce the overall time. However, you cannot skip a gear in this kit (4->2). In addition, it would require two hands to get in reverse, which is very inconvenient for rally use. Since we will have to be in reverse in many cases to back up. By using this kit, it will cost even more time.

Overall, the major advantage for this kit is the "racing feel" it provides.

Mmmm, not so good then. Especially the two hands for reverse thing. That could be a major pain in the ass, impossible even if youve got racing harnesses on.

Yeah, good find Ben. Think the guy's got it in one when he says about the looks and maybe a racy feel but other than that it's an expensive gadget really. I think you'd get bored of it quite easily.

just got this from someone who has one fitted to there car......

"Bollocks you just keep the clutch down and push the lever forwards twice. You can change
from 5th to 1st with one clutch depression if you like."

    think that answers the question

Doesnt make sense that you could only shift one gear at a time. Its not like the clutch pedal will be linked to the shift assembly.

Still an arse to get into reverse if your at a track.

Who is it thats got one then?
