Can anyone get wheelbearings cheaper than popping into my local Nissan main dealer?

Front or rear?
The fronts are a sealed unit (the whole hub knuckle)
The rears (for an S13) can be bought from motor factors selling "Blueprint parts" http://www.autopartsjs.com/blueprint.php
N/S/F unfortunately?
I just checked out that website anyway, and they mention a front wheelbearing kit ?
Hmmm, Ive just noticed that. May be worth ringing someone and asking then, as I have always been under the impression that as and when the front wheel bearings go its new hub timeOriginally posted by IDJ

The part Number is: ADN18226
OK,
I have the following news:
(After a bit of digging and searching and a couple of phone calls)
The BluePrint Bearing uses an SKF X-reference of VKBA3314.
I found a guy that can do it for £35 + vat. The number is 02392 463868 - Hayling Industries (Hayling Island - right down south!)
I asked him how I was supposed to fit it, cos Id looked at the std hub and there is no way of "tapping" it out. He said it did not look like a sealed bearing - it was double row bearing - just fitted one to "her" clio...
Dont take my word for it though. Do a bit more digging
Good luck and keep us posted how you get on...
Matt
Cheers for that Matt - interesting. Might save me 50 squids or so!
several people on here have looked and concluded it to be a new hub job but i am sceptical tbh
i have always found blueprint to be top class parts and seriously doubt they would advertise unfittable bearings
IDJ , i will pull a spare hub apart later in the week and investigate
Nice one Chris, any wodge saved is a good thing as it can be spent on more important stuff like going on the piss
got a perfectly good spare hub and bearing here if other things dont work out , would prefer to keep for myself tho
The front bearing is deffo replaceable as I have changed one of mine . The bearing that I used was an SKF item which I will confirm part no, tonight as old box in garage. Im afraid its a press out press in job and I tell you takes a bit of pressing. The bearing is a whopper and I got mine with about 45% disc and it was still 50 bucks if I remember correctly though Nisscam wanted about 90 quid I think
The bearing will be changeable, they got it in there when they made the car so it stands to reason it must come out again. The only thing is what equipment do you need to do the job - a large press probably.
Cheers m8, I'm quite happy to purchase one of those Blueprint jobs as long as you think you'll be able to fit it - as hopefully you'll be doing said job for me
I was under the impression that the fronts were availble as a kit but the rears were only availble as an assembly ie bearing carrier plus bearings. A place called auotbase quoted me £32 a side for the fronts, but as mentioned you do need a substantial press tog et them in and out
Thanks everyone for help given here. £32-35 obviously better than main dealer wheel bearing price, which Chris reckons to be about £100? So, as long as Chris is able to fit the kit (nice one m8!) think I'll order one of those.
Ta,
Ian.
