Made a motorised go kart for the kids

Had it's first outing yesterday as they had a snow day. It's just some old 1" box section, quad wheels, a plastic chair and a cement mixer engine but I thought you guys might appreciate the drifting.

    Very basic motoring!

    Here's a video I did at lunchtime

It's amazing what you can make with stuff that's just lying about. The steering column support is an old spanner with a piece of blue water pipe stuffed through it for the steering bush!

I was quite lucky to find that. The steering column was a piece of stainless pipe that I got off Ninian Northern topside when it was here getting decommissioned. I used the rest of it for a pull up bar in the garden.

I got the piece of blue pipe from some guys that were putting in a new water main next to the house for the princely sum of a packet of biscuits.

I was in two minds about destroying my King Dick double ended ring spanner but it was for the greater good and I couldn't find anything else in the shed that would fit!
