Great work there M8, will this be a keeper?
Great work there M8, will this be a keeper?
It will be at the very least run in, will be for sale but not certain when, starting to owe me a fair bit now after purchasing all the engine parts, plating of loads, powdercoating then new engine/box mounts, new wheel bearings all round, full polybush kit etc etc
Still have brakes, turbo, and any other bits to buy.
Wanted to go oem Bush but closest I could find was hardrace but the cost was extortionate for a full set
Majority of underside is prepped for epoxy, then found a small blister on drivers sill.
Quickly escalated

Fuel tank was stripped to Bare metal, 2 coats of zinc primer, gravitex'ed the underside and 3 coats of 2k gloss black.
Subframe and rear hub assemblies built up with new bearings, plated hardware etc.
Had some stainless tank straps made.
And all fitted up!
Next is brakes, diff, shafts and prop.
May try get it done for iow Takeover but probably being optimistic lug:

Will do a proper post with more detail shortly but for now, 13 years after its last Mot it now has a new fresh mot on it, just need a tyre as its perished and split but will likely get 4 new.

Fantastic work, I look forward to more photos
Had a quick alignment, need to refresh the driveshafts.
But for now, trying to get the bodywork to a half decent standard.
Any tips on removing bird s**t etching?
Have tried a compound (farecla g360) and hairdryer trick but can't seem to completely shift them!

Have also got some paint to paint the sills body colour, just hope it's a good match!
