looks like you need to invest in some taller axle stands.

Need a ramp ideally but bigger stands would be a start

i struggled for years on small stands like you have with bits of wood etc.. then bought some large ones and they are a total game changer.

More chassis pics to come getting on well with the welding but in the meantime.

Subframe is out, and an engine and gearbox sourced!
Engine I will strip, inspect and rebuild, hoping to keep oem pistons as nowhere seems to sell 0.5 oversize oem pistons any more and dont want to get into forging for whats going to be an as oem as possible build.

Interested to know if anyone can source oem oversize pistons?

Front arch welded, waiting on more weld through so I can finish the chassis leg on this side.

Sills and replacement front x-member ordered also.

    Engine almost finished.

New ACL STD size mains and big end bearings.

    New genuine oil pump.

    Genuine gasket set.

    Oem rods, +1mm oversize pistons.

Bores honed and new Hastings piston rings.

All clearances double and triple checked.

All parts cleaned, painted, powdercoated or plated.

Gates Cam belt kit going on today with new waterpump.

Cylinder head has been faced, valves lapped and new stem seals fitted (thanks to Draugr on the forum)

8 new hydraulic lifters on inlet side, remaining 8 were stripped and cleaned.

Need to refresh ancillaries, and source a turbo (hopefully from JK fab on here)

I have got most oem parts but can't find hotside Intercooler pipework or Coldside rubber coupler to throttle body.
If you have these bits please pm me!

I'm loving both the engine and the body work

What brand is that bronze-coloured weldthrough primer ? How are you finding it ?

I am using this stuff, I wanted to use the metaflux but wasn't available anywhere at all and still isn't AFAIK

I have used both previously and have no negative comments on either to be honest!

Engine is built, new oem waterpump, oil pump and gates timing belt kit.

Buying a turbo off Jermaine on here, then exh side can go on.
Injectors are sent away for cleaning and flow testing.

Hopefully be almost on the floor in the next month.
