    PS13 Ks - Back in a Silvia

Hi all, back in a Silvia and on SXOC after 6 years out of doing sensible things.. So I'm now going to start a new build thread for my PS13.

Last time i was on here i was building my Navan S14, which i ended up parting with back in early 2017.

I also then decided to build a Bomex NB Mx5

SO i thought i was done with cars or past all of this! as my other half says but a good friend said i could buy his PS13 Ks that he imported back in roughly 2016 and has been sat up for 4 nearly 5 years. I figured if i didn't buy one now, I probably never will again with the way the market is going, so here are some photos.

The car itself has a good base already, really it just needs some minor rust repair and maintenance.

    ENGINE:
    SR20DET BlackTop Straight Cam
    Nistune ECU

    Adjustable Toe Rods
    Adjustable Traction Rods
    Nismo 2-Way Diffirental
    Work Meister S1 - 3P Wheels 17"/18" Staggered
    Brick HID Headlights
    SuperMade Front Fenders
    SuperMade Rear Over Fenders
    Supermade Sideskirts
    Origin Labo Carbon Boot Lip
    Smoked DMAX Smoked Taillights

So far since picking this up on the 25th February iv been quite busy, I repaired the SuperMade front wing after seeing how much a replacement was its not perfect but itle pass for now.

Removed the interior, rewrapped the loom and cleaned out the mice sh*t rubbed back all the surface rust from the floor, ready to put down a fresh coat of paint. I have been looking for a carpet but for now, it feels like a nicer place to be.

The engine itself was all pretty moldy, I have now since given it a full service with fresh oil, coolant, filters and changed the radiator for a Koyo. Replaced the cracked fan shroud and put in a new battery. Im going to look at moving the battery into the boot later on and relocating the fuse box behind the glove box.

So now that the car was running at least, took attention to the brakes. The disks and pads are all long dead, but luckily its has been converted already to 5 stud with r32 calipers. It's now running the GKTech 350z brake adaptors so has the 350z 16" disks & Brembo pads with standard grooved disks & pads on the rear. The fittings had all corroded so then changed over to Goodridge braided lines and replaced the copper hardlines.

Now that the brakes are all done i need to sort the exhaust, After years of smashing off the floor, it was in a poor state. It's using a Greddy downpipe from a Flexi to Blitz Elbow. the rest of the exhaust was full straight pipe 3" that sounds good but i can't say my neighbors will be so pleased I spoke with Sam at Downforce Fabrication and ordered a 18" 3.5" silencer and met up with Sam to chop out the old decat and weld it all up.

It sounds better but it's still pretty loud, Once it's back on the road I'm going to go see Sam again to add a gearbox hanger and a vband downtip. So the next job is to remove the manifold so i can tighten up the turbo elbow as the Japspeed manifold blocks all access to the top bolts. It then also needs attention to the rear pockets & jacking points, so will need to get this stripped-back welded and undersealed. Almost every bush, ball joint, or cv joint is in poor condition as well so will have to make a start on these. The subframe has locking collars but everything else is mostly stock.

    Back to update again soon

    Matt

I like that.stunning motor, and great work on it.

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!
