    Fuel pump replacement help!

    Hello guys,

So my fuel pump has died, I want to ask a quick questions before i buy a replacement, i want to go for more power in the future so can i buy a up-powered fuel pump instead of a standard for now or will it just not communicate with the current tune and overfuel ?

Or can the standard FPR handle it ?

If you're not going beyond 400 hp then a normal in tank like an Aeromotive Stealth 344 will do it.

It will be fine. The fuel pressure is regulated by the FPR.

You can buy a decent Walbro 225 ltr pump for about 1/2 the cost of a Nissan pump which only flows about 80 litres when new.

Try to avoid the cheapy-cheapy ones but Horsham Developments used to sell them for a reasonable price.

I've recently put a 255 in mine and that's good for anything under 500bhp. I've got no tune on a FBO and 12psi of boost. Car runs fine.

Always recommend an uprated fuel pump on these cars now. The original is old and not up to the job really. I’m running an in-tank Walbro at around 400bhp and haven’t had any feeling issues so far.

No the FPR will be fine and will work for you. You'd only need to upgrade it if you wanted more fuel through it.

I’ve used 2 Aeromotive Stealth pumps in the past, both failed just after the warranty. I ended up with an equivalent from fuel performance, looks the same just blue ends and it’s been going for years so worth look.

Crikey, not great. Never had an issue with my Stealth 340 Inline.

The stealths are over twice the price. Almost every s14 must have a Walbro in it by now. At £60 it makes sense.

Don't forget to buy a new o-ring for the tank lid seal. The one in the tank will have swollen with petrol contamination and won't seal properly again resulting in petrol fumes inside the car. They're about £8 from Nissan
