    Battery conditioner / trickle charger

    Hey guys,

I’m interested in a trickle charger now that I have a garage with power. Previously over winter I’d disconnect the battery to save it discharging.

Who uses a conditioner or trickle charger? Is it worthwhile and if so any recommend ones to look out for?

I use a solar panel to keep something in it. Then give it a 2 day zap with a trickle charger at the start of spring and that's usually enough to keep her juiced.

I've used a CTEK battery conditioner for years across several different cars now, and i always see them being recommended on owners club forums etc. Can't fault it.

CTEK would do you proud. Make sure you get the 'tail' connector that goes to the battery and stays there, so that you can connect it to the charger and run the wire out with the bonnet closed - then car is locked up as it should be yet being charged away.

Last year I bought a CTek MXS 5.0 and have never looked back. It's a great piece of kit and has a reconditioning feature for dead batteries.
I got the 2.5m extension cable and the tail connector with the LEDs for state of battery charge that Harry's Garage uses on his cars.
Just run the extension cable through the grill and click in the connector, and the same quickness removing to drive it.

Another vote for the Ctek from me. Regular battery replacement was costly every other year or so

I'd buy from Tayna because they're the nuts

    I've got CTEK 3.8s and a CTEK 5.0.

The 5.0 is better but was quite a bit more expensive. Probably not worth the difference in price.
