Requirement for condenser/capacitor with replacement coils

    Hi all,

I was looking at options to get rid of the standard ingitor and run S15 style coils (or R35/Audi/Yaris/etc.).

When going through the S15 wiring diagrams I noticed that as standard they have a condenser between the ECM live and ground:

Has anyone ever bothered with this? Can't really see the point unless it's just there to supress noise

Yep, that's a noise suppressor. I've installed 2uF capacitor when I did my r8 coil conversion too.
Cannot tell if it works or not...

ive not got one and have the red vw coilpack conversion and it works fine.

tbh if i did it again i think i would use the regular black vw coils as they fit the sr20 better,
