    Subframe solid PU bushes

    Hey guys,
    I need your help.

I'm in the middle of restoring my rear subframe from my S13 and I want to replace the original bushings with PU ones. I've burned away the old ones, but there is still a sleeve that is left inside.
Does this sleeve also need to be removed to fit the new bushings or not?

    Thanks for the advice

It depends which brand you use mate.

    Driftworks- remove sleeve
    Strongflex - leave sleeve

Usually that metal sleeve needs to come out. That's what I have learnt, I have recently polybushed about 4 cars, all different manufacturers (BMW, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes).

If you are still unsure. Find out the diameter of the bush and measure the hole and u will clearly see if the sleeve is in the way.

Best way to remove the sleeve is use a press or if u don't have access to one then use a recip saw. Make 2 cuts, use a chisel/screwdriver and a hammer and fold the sleeve in on it self and you should be able to knock it out.
