    whats your best 1/4 mile?

Im looking to take my car on the strip but will be next year as ive decided to stick with my car, do my clutch, get fresh map etc. Now when it was stage 1a i got 13.9@104 mph, my launches are rubbish as my 60ft was around 2.6 lol.

after this i had it mapped with new turbo/injectors/afm and made 349@fly, but never had it on the strip, now with fresh engine and external wastegate (now better boost control) and 3.9 ratio diff, what times and speed should i be aiming for roughly? I know it depends on conditions, tyres, etc etc, but i had the mrs time a 0-100 (uneven surface and stop watch on phone so not the most accurate) in 9.7 seconds!

Basically mines stage 3a but with 740s and external gate with screamer

My only and best time so far is 13.370. That was done on a top speed mile run... So wasn't trying to get a good launch. 420HP.

Stock turbo 18ish psi, stock manual ratio, 225 18" road tyres.
Was with a paddle clutch just dumping it, got an organic in now, I reckon I will improve the launch a fair bit. Well maybe doing more than 2 runs would of helped I was happy with this though.
Bang on 1 second quicker than the last time I hit the 1/4mile with stock tyres, maybe stock suspension, 10psi and a fooked wing mount.

So its clear im a rubbish driver lol!

I did have cheap tyres i think, had paddle clutch which is hard to get a good launch, first run i ripped clutch up and left cloud of smoke with a 3.8 to 60ft lol!!

However its just come to me i didnt have alignment done after lowering it and had some serious camber, now thats all done and got decent tyres should improve alot

Nah man you can't be, otherwise I have to put myself into the 'rubbish driver' category as well since our times are virtually the same, ahhh!

I just see how much boost you put down, think i was at 17psi, so yeah actually we and the cars are pretty much the same, just hope all this money makes a decent improvement lol

i quick read and thought you hit that on 10psi with wing mount, when i had walbro, k&n panel and 3" exhaust only, i had 14.7@93, lost every race at japshow but when i went stage 1a i won all 4

On one of my earlier trips to crail, when i was running circa 240bhp and 260ft on stock stuff i remember going up against an RX8.
The mazda did me off the line by about a car length, was about 1 or 2 car lenghts up to about 60 then the torque of the SR really came in and i went past it like it was switched off.

Torque rules, although launching is a big part of the quarter.

Ive had a bit of race with an r35, 2nd gear pull till redline we was side by side then i slowed as of traffic and he carried on at like million miles an hour, ive left 2 e46 m3's in the dust, they looked suprised as i backed off n they caught up lol, makes all that work and money put a smile on my face

Do you thonk ill loose torque with a screamer as boost is going to atmosphere? Or am i helping by reducing back pressure?

I managed a 12.7 at japshow, with rubbish launch's, 30psi in my tyres and rock hard suspension! That was with 420ish bhp

Always thought s bodies weren't great at drag racing due to launching being bit of a struggle. I found it easy o bog down and nail it. Ran 13.9 at stage1a, never dyno'd

12s would be great but i doubt it will, i dont know if its just me but i do find them hard to launch and get traction (on the strip) pointless on the roads, all about rolling starts

I want to have a go at a 1/4 mile day. 390ft lbs of torque and launch control should be fun
