    SOLD 1998 200sx S14a Black 133K miles 297Bhp Lincoln, £2500 SOLD

Time has come to sell my 200sx, it needs work doing to it and I've lost the enthusiasm for doing it.

It's not too bad but more than I want to do, and I struggle getting nice results with bodywork welding. I had a go at the drivers side inner arch and TBH it's a mess which is why I'm giving up on it.
As you can see from the pictures the drivers footwell is going too, I repaired the passenger side one a couple of years ago and it's not an easy repair to do because of the structure.
Both rear arches have rust coming through so need attention
I have a good condition passenger side front arch in black as a replacement but it needs a some paintwork touching up - will get pictures

    Other bad points:
Engine has developed a misfire at WOT, it looks to be overboosting and hitting fuel cut, on part throttle it goes fine.
Alarm hassn't worked for a few years, have keyfob and matser keyfob though.
Clutch is possibly on the way out, gears sometimes difficult to select when stationary and release bearing is noisy but always has been.
Stereo doesn't seem to be working either, there's power to the unit but faceplate doesn't do anything.
There's a slight oil leak from the engine, I believe it's from the oil filter sandwich plate installed to fit senders for oil gauges.
Vems AFR gauge works but only showing one value or the Techedge is not sending the right signal for it

Paintwork is ok condition but there are blemishes on the roof and the bonnet is stonechipped

I've got a load of spares which I will throw in with the car such as
    Original rear suspension arms
    Original manifold, elbow and downpipe
Two original alloys with really old tyres
    Original injectors
    Rocker arm stoppers
    Centre console cubby hole
    Original spoiler
    Original wing mirrors
and various other bits I'll probably uncover whilst digging out the other bits

Adjustable rear arms, Whiteline arb and new Toyo TR1 tyres

I have no idea what this is worth, so comments welcome, it needs a lot of work but does have an MOT until September 2021, so I'm going to say £2500 and see if there's any interest.

I've got room to break it if it doesn't sell but the problem with that is if I've got the engine sitting about I'll be very tempted to make it fit my Manta......

Put this up on the UK 200sx pages on Facebook, someone will probably pay more than what you are asking, even with the rust

Really?!?! Thought I was pushing my luck with £2.5k, but I've got nothing to go on apart from an ad on here a few months ago for a similarly rusty, better condition but lower spec.

Try not to do Facebook but may have to venture back.

Always see people wanting projects on there. Yours isn't that bad on the rust, still has mot and I'm guessing still drives somewhat. Won't hurt to try!

As said, prices are climbing even for examples that need work. Would be great to see someone save / restore this rather than break it

Even with the work needed to put it straight I reckon it’s a £5k car IMO

Someone will strip it and make their money back overnight chap. £270 for the headlights or so, £100 for the wings, £100 for the front bumper support to replace a bent one, £100 for the bonnet, £1500 for the engine, £800 for the gearbox kit, £100 for the rear subframe, £80 for the dash, £100 for the engine loom, £150 for the cabin loom, £50 for the doorcards.

That's even before you even get the the aftermarket bits on there or the electronics. And even needing work, someone will take the shell to start again with. It's no where near as bad as some of the shells I've seen broken recently.

Remember, these cars are rapidly drying up and spares are becoming a legitimate problem.

I honestly would cancel your sale and break it.

I know the guy who is buying it and he has been looking for a restoration project for quite some time. I think its a crying shame when people buy them to break them when they can be salvaged.
