    S14a Alarm Siren

    Hi there.
My alarm siren under the bonnet has been ruined by the internal battery leaking and destroying the circuit board.
Would anyone have one available? It is marked up as an ES70.
    Thanks.

I've sent this thread to a friend of mine who has two breakers at the moment, I'm confident he will have one.

John Pearson on many Jap car/parts Facebook groups would more than likely have one

    Wow!

Lots of replies already, thanks everyone.

I'm not actually on Facebook! Is there another way to get in touch?

Easy to find out if unit is any good, take two screws out of the back and open it up and see if the battery pack has spewed acid all over the PCB ( like mine ).

Sorry to hijack but how do you open the siren to change the battery? Does it just pull apart?

Edit - Ignore me, the answer is in the post above

I tried levering the front off initially, without success!! Then found the two screws, much easier then!!
Replacing battery pack before disaster strikes definitely a good idea, hindsight, what a wonderful thing!!

That’s exactly what I was doing! Then I looked at your post and saw the screws.

Just fitted a new battery, old one had begun to leak but not onto the board. Tried it out but it only beeps, not sure if that’s the siren though? I wonder if the battery needs charging up, locked with the remote and opened the door with the key and I’m just getting a sustained beeping.

Perhaps I'll just leave mine disconnected!!!
Seriously though, could well need charging up first. Or some sort of reset?!?!?

Mine was disconnected for ages lol.

Not sure why it’s not worked, does anyone know if the battery needs charging or does something need resetting ?

I assume it gets charged via the car when connected, could take a while.
Only assume that a reset may be needed, no idea how if it does though.

Yeah maybe it just needs charging up! Will give it some time and see for now I suppose, otherwise I’ll do what you’ve done and get another siren
