Anyone know what’s up with my alarm, I put in a new pack that I admittedly had for about a year without fitting it, if I lock the car and then open the door with the key and open the door it beeps, I assume the alarm should go off at this point right? I suppose I could buy a new pack but would the new one I fitted really been dead after just sitting in a draw for a while? They aren’t that cheap so I’m hesitating on buying a new one to find the same issue.

    Any thoughts?

Have you given the new batteries a chance to charge yet?

When I did mine, I tried it straight away without thinking and nothing worked. After a few days I was able to reset it using the fob.

It’s been fitted for a while now so I’d hope it’s charged but don’t know about resetting? Is that what the other button is for on the fob?

Thanks but I’m not sure if that’s relevant to my issue, the fob works fine, locks and unlocks the car, but the alarm won’t go off if I have locked with the fob and the used the key to open the door to test if the siren works.

These threads seem to be resetting the fob if they are new or not working, unless I’ve missed something?

Sorry, I had go through the whole reset thing when I changed the alarm batteries to get it all working again, thought it might help.

Oh maybe it might help then, was your fob not working at the time either?

I couldn't get the car to disarm with the fob. Battery replacement and re-sync sorted it.

I know it's the opposite of your issue but there's only three main components and they all need to be talking to each other.

Yes I see what you mean.

I’ve just tried to do below but how long with the led flash for whilst holding the two buttons, held for a minute or so but the light never stopped flashing

To resync an already learned fob (battery gone etc)

    1) Press the red and blue button of the keyfob together until the keyfob LED stops flashing.

    2) Release the buttons.

    3) The keyfob LED should stay ON.

    4) Press the red button for 1 second.

    Edit

Just tried this method and it’s not working either, key fob led just keeps flashing without ever going continuous

To program a new fob to the car

    1)Disarm the system
2)Put car key in ign-on position
3)Press red button Master-keyfob until keyfob-LED stops flashing(appr. 10 seconds) then stays on continuously
    4)Press red button Master-keyfob for 2 seconds

5)Press both red and blue buttons of the normal keyfob at the same time continuously for appr. 10 seconds until the keyfob-LED stops flashing

6)Press the red button of the keyfob for 2 seconds

Well I shouldn’t have tried the 2nd option as my fob isn’t opening or closing the car now

Edit - sorted!! Thanks for the help. Turns out there was no metal tab inside the fob under the blue button, little bit of kitchen foil in there and it synced and the alarm siren is going off as well
