Was going to start this as a ‘what’s hot to watch on TV in 2021’
But with Covid-19 and Warner deciding to co-release on HBO Max, does anyone see a mid 80’s esque cinema depression happening for the mid term future? Where Home Video kept people away from Cinema?
Marvel’s MCU has pretty much been concluded apart from the odd fill ins and “I will say I was wrong again” always rated Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy over Marvel’s MCU, but and a big but. Watch the MCU in Chronological order, culminating with Avengers End Game. It is pure cinema fun.
Star Wars in the Cinema is all but over for the mid term (just look at Mandalorian - production quality and story surpasses the last 3 Star Wars films)
Apart from Bond and Fast / Furious, what other big franchises are there to keep cinema / pure movie studios going - which is what they have been banking on for the last decade or so. I’d rather go see a musical (but not those ‘modern musicals that change history for the sake of...’)
There is a big shift to TV. Want fantasy, Game of Thrones gave that. Gripping dramas, too many to speak of. Sci Fi, we have the Mandalorian and the Expanse ( not mentioning those Star Trek Series)
Even YouTube has got into the act, yes taken over by Netflix (Cobra Kai)
Anyways what I’m really into at the moment on TV is Your Honor (Imagine Walter White becomes a Judge in New Orleans)
The Crown
