300zx calipers into S14: brake line question

    Hey all,

I know this subject is done to death, but wondering if anyone has succeeded in using braided 300zx lines instead of the dedicated conversion brake lines offered by the likes of GK Tech when putting front 300zx calipers in their S14?

I’m planning on doing the the fronts on my Silvia for now and can’t find any conversion lines in the Uk for a decent price, but I can find 300zx braided lines for nearly a third of the cost.

    All the best,

    Ollie

You should chat to Hamish N, he sells conversion lines I think.

On the front just use regular UK S14 hoses

You're sure the fittings are the same? I've heard of people having difficulties

The calipers for a Z32 TT are the same as the calipers on an S14/s14a except for them being made of alloy instead of pig iron.
S14/s14a hoses are short as they don't include the bit that runs from the strut to the caliper. If you have coilies fitted, they may not have the bracketry that will allow you to run flexy to the strut then hard lines to the caliper.

Z32 non-TT are different again as they are for a 26mm thick disk not a 30 mm disk.

As long as you have Z32TT calipers, then if you buy S14/14a conversion hoses for an S13, they will work as they will be the longer hoses and will fit the same as for S14/14a calipers.

EDIT: Just saw you are fitting to an S14 silvia. You should be able to to re-use the existing hoses and existing hardlines to the caliper unless you are changing the struts for coilies that don't have a mount for the connector between the hoses and the hardline.
