lotus Carlton pish though init?
I mean it was a ledged in its day but point it ant owt resembling a corner or ask it to stop is... well not good. Besides its not that bloody quick anyway.
Personally not my cup of tea these old things.
Have you really tried a new one?
I am 6 foot plus, built like a minibus and like to were boots.
I fit fine in my mk4, heck i have the seat 2 click forward... YES FORWARD!!!! ok i like to be close to the wheel for some of that special slidage but heck even with it at that setting i have plenty of room
The Mk4 mx4 has loads of room for the driver..
Now the passenger side... thats a different story, the cars with the upgraded subwoofer in the passenger footwell do take up a bit of space and is a bit tighter but i plan and fitting 2 8s in the space behind the excellent seats cos.. gota have da boom.
Not tried a new one tbh, well out of my price range for a budget track toy unfortunately. I’m 6’3ish and 17-18 stone so no featherweight.
A lot of what I like about the Carlton is the looks, if you have a big collection then it almost doesn’t matter how some of them drive imo

I was very surprised how well I fit in our r56 mini cooper s.....
I have to go 2 or 3 clicks forward on that, may have to try an mx5

6.3 your will be fine in the mk4 5
But that weight will piss off the PWR, loose some you chunky fat bastard (looks at self at same weight...!!! cough cough)
I recently lowered the mk4 5 and set some specific alignment's on it.
I can tell you now there if not a chance in fking hell my s14a would keep up with it on the bendy bits - and i had like 4 different suspension setups in my time.
Its absolutely mental, go into a corner at just about any speed and ... nope no problem ... laughs it off.
Ok its not mega fast but fk me it take corners like they aint there.
It’s covid weight
Would love to try one on track for sure.

I wouldn’t mind adding one of these to the collection
RX7 FD
Silvia S13
180sx S13
Silvia S15
350Z
Skyline C10
240Z
AE86
RA28 Mk1 Escort
Jag XJC (old one)

In no particular order...
Vauxhall Firenza
BMW M1
BMW CSi635M
Lister C-Type nobblybody
GD T70 Spyder
Alfa Romeo 8C
Corvette C3 with the vertical rear window
Ferrari California
and for a practical dog wagon a Volvo V60 T8 Polestar or a Jaguar XF Sportbrake (just because they are not German).
That should leave loads of room in the garage for a lot of bikes
Audi RS5 for the daily driver.
R34 GTR
My old TT 350Z back
S15

Evo 6 TME
R32 GTR
R33 GTR
FD RX7 (And the weight loss surgery to be able to fit into it )

TBH if i had endless sums of money, I'd have more cars than I knew what to do with
RS5 evant for daily
-gtr for alone time
- my s15 for fun times
2000 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R
Alfa guilia qv as a daily - driven the e63, my and rs5 and the qv trounces them all.

Lets agree to disagree on the first point. When I drove a 355, It was exhilerating above 70 mph and that kinda spolied the experience driving it below the speed limit. Can't fault it for looks though. Probably the last "Pretty" Ferrari to have been made
That's why I quite enjoy Chris Harris take and why he loves his 205 Rallye
Agree on the S Body and Skyline GTR comments though - however you may notice variances. For example, I had a Golf Gti, Seat Leon Cupra and a Skoda Oktavia vRS as company cars - all 3 were basically the same car underneath, but interestingly the Skoda was the most enjoyable to drive - perhaps due to it having a 5 speed gearbox, whereas the others were 6 speed -(have heard similar thoughts on past Mistubishi EVO's)
I'd also like to build my own kit track car based around a mid-mounted Jaguar 5.0 V8 with supercharger
