1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible
1989 Lexus LS400.
Boxster 4.0GTS
Early 70s 911 hotrod. All panels one dark colour, no Fuchs, no ducktail, no stupid filler in the middle of the frunk
1982 Talbot Samba LS, full Tarmac rally spec.
NB MX5 with about 200 bhp
Random electric hatch. Who cares really?
For me, I am very happy with what I have given the limited space and money that I have.... I've owned my S14a for 15 years now and I can't see it ever going anywhere. My GT6.. I may sell in the future and go down the TVR route...
But if money and space was no object, then I would have a big garage with a lift and....
- My S14a
- TVR Griffith 500
- TVR Cerbera series 1
- Jaguar E-Type roadster series 1
- Jensen Interceptor restromod for those long distance trips.
- MG B restromod
- Lotus Elan
- 20 year old Volvo 940 with a LS engine swap for the daily hack.
- Nissan GTR (R35)
There is absolutely nothing modern that interests me.

My other half just saw your post and agrees with you
Everybody (including her) is allowed to be wrong every now and then
Regards TVRs, its simple. Don't do it.
Even if you have the shittest, most unreliable GT6 (which I know you don't) it will still be a million miles ahead of TVR for reliability and maintenance costs and it won't be a lot nicer to drive. I had a Spitfire 1500 for 13 years (my brother had a GT6) and 3 TVRs and the TVRs were all noisy, leaky, smelly, not very comfy, fell to bits and cost a fortune to run. I even managed to crash one - aquaplaning on the M25
Some bloke on the Petrolheads forum : You know you have a TVR because very time you leave the car you instinctively look back over your shoulder.
Me : Yeah, to see if it caught fire

I like that! Ha ha ha! :-)
I've had my GT6 now for 12 years. It's nearly 50 years old and I don't treat it softly. But it has never let me down. And if anything does go and you can't fix it with a hammer, then parts are stupidly cheap. As in stupidly cheap!.... But..........20 years ago watching Top Gear, I said that someday I would own a TVR or Ginetta. So I will have to..... and yes big boy toys come with big boy prices... I just hope that I don't regret it... But man, that is disheartening advice since you know Spitfires and GT6s... But still.....

Having watched a few YouTube vids today as the weather has been miserable in between chopping firewood etc
I’m going to change my mind. Mainly cars I’ve owned and driven, because they say never meet your hero
Ferrari F355 with a manual gearbox (I still standby it isn’t the best car I’ve driven, but undeniably it has presence and is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced, probably the last seriously gorgeous cars Ferrari have produced)
I was going to say Audi R8 V10 for the noise, but a 5 banger comes close to it so would go for an Audi TT RS and let the missus have it
MK1 Astra GTE (for nost***ia)
MG Montego Turbo (only car I’ve ever had a naked girl try to climb into it from another car whilst doing 70 on the A127 )
A White RS13 (but instead of doing stupid mods that ruin it) subtle styling mods 300 ish hp / the electronics I had and planned too / and fully restored to factory condition but with upgrades (I loved that car)
The 2 before would have to be concourse restored as would the next 2
A MK2 Ford Escort RS1800
An original Mini Cooper S tastefully modded with DB8 Integra Type R engine in it
Got to have an Aston, but which one? Probably a Casino Royale DBS pre crashed
Still undecided about a big saloon, probably a Tesla
And for an SUV? A 4 litre battered old Jeep
