    S14a Sports Cat Options

Hi all, I guess like many I want something less restrictive than the OEM cat but don't want to run a decat

I know this has come up on the forums quite a lot, been digging through past threads but it still seems that one of the only options I have is the Japspeed S14 sports cat (with s14 turbo elbow and downpipe to make it work with my S14a)

    https://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-20...ports-cat-pipe
    https://www.japspeed.co.uk/exhaust-t...0det-1993-2000
    https://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-20...haust-downpipe

Really don't mind swapping all this out but before I take the plunge and buy all this, are there any other realistic off the shelf options for an S14a sports cat other than the Japspeed s14? Any experience with the setup I described above?

    Cheers

I bought a magnaflow universal sports cat and got a local place to weld it up for me :- https://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread....ackbird/page10

It a cheaper option compared to buying the S14 downpipe and the japspeed cat

I would source a 200 Cell cat from Simmons because it's a good part, and then get an exhaust company to weld the flanges on. It's a very common job. Apex used to sell exactly that.

Ah that's great, thanks all for the quick replies
Out of interest have the magnaflow/reef options gotten through an MOT?
Also any data on power losses/gains over decat/oem cat?
    Cheers

Mine has just passed the mot with the mangaflow sports cat. I don’t think I can feel a reduction in power, it’s a 3 inch cat though so maybe that’s why

ah that's really good to know, is it a 345mm to fit the s14a or the shorter 315mm version for the s14 or is it just universal and the length is sorted out during the welding?

Do you know anyone who could do the welding for me? I need it 345mm for the s14a

Length isn’t too critical as the welder will make it up for you.

The place i went to is in Surrey so probably best for you to check locally
