Those pedals are what you need for grip ! Not so nice when your shins touch them though

ive a cheap 'decend' or something like that dropper seat post on my MTB and it seems decent quality. it will probably explode or start sticking but I see people with decent branded ones having issues so figured I could have a few cheap ones instead if needed. the only real let down is the lever on the handle bars seems a bit flimsy.
People say not to use long travel forks on a hard tail, but I loved the ride position and way my kona handled when I upgraded yo 160mm travel sektors from the 100mm Judy's it came with

How my kona ended up before upgrade to the whyte,
Changed to sektor rl forks, shimano slx crank set and nukeproof neutron pedals.
Fsa gravity bars and stem, 205mm disk conversion slx brakes
Loved how it rode and did 1000s of miles, even managed break 50mph according to strava (did over take a few cars on way down hill from mow cop to congleton).
If I hadn't upgraded a dropper and single ring would have been next

Looks good! Bit bright for me (both my bikes are black...)
Recently completed my mtb build -'92 Kona Explosif Pro. It's so satisfying riding something you built. Kinda like driving something you built up too

Don't take that as binning it on super mahoosive jumps, I generally fall off at low speeds in ditches lol
I've just got shitty eyes
Another lump spent on the bike at the weekend
Personal safety/comfort -

It was very slippery on the leaves and there were some really boggy spots right where you didn't want soggy spots.
Awesome
I was tempted to go out last weekend in the rain but the Racekings are.... err... best described as fairweather only.

DHF is the best ever summer tyre but when it's like this, I'd definitely go for a Shorty, at least at the front. When my Eddy Currents are used up, I'll either go Shorty 2.5s or two front Eddy Currents as the rear isn't much cop. Got my 38s as well, not on yet, tomorrows job. I'd post a pic but have no idea how any more.
Sweet, cleared my pm's now
Took another trip out with Pabs yesterday, visited Bedgebury and took on their Red trail. My first proper trail ride and it fcuked me!!!! We ended up doing just over 16k, legs gave up, multiple heart attacks, technical issues but thanks to Pabs who let me use his ebike we ended up completing the trail just as the light was going and everything was shutting up. I only dropped the bike once during the day unfortunately it was Pabs expensive bike and it was a stupid mistake. Live and learn though and i need to keep more speed on and watch my lines a little more.
Anyways

Laugh away at the fall, i did when pabs sent me the vid
Went out to a local woodland yesterday afternoon to get to know my and the bikes abilities a bit more and also to try and build up my stamina. Did about 7 miles on some really boggy and slippery mud/leaves with some decent hills. I can say my rear brake is useless and didnt do much in the way of stopping me but I didn't crash so there's that!!

Also my new dropper post, supplied and fitted by the guys at Quench cycles at bedgebury. Had it in next day for my trip above with Pablo.

Now to get the post to sit lower in the frame, gonna have to drill out some captive nut type things that Trek decided to install
Finally caved and got an emtb
Ordered myself an Orbea Wild on new years eve and it arrived in less than 2 weeks. Been out on it a few times but unfortunately mostly road as everywhere local is under 2ft water or just plain bog. Lovin it so far.
E bikes do seem to be real good fun but they aint half expensive.
most the guys round here seem to rate the Michelin wild E enduro tyres for E-bikes in the winter and the regular wild enduro's for normal MTB.
I found my DHF to be slippy in the mud so went for a shorty as I found a good deal and all the Michelin were out of stock.
