    That sounds like fun

That's something I never understood from the Ford scene. They would spend an absolute fortune on a few extra horses or a couple of extra lb/ft and then brag endlessly about it in the pub.

My response was usually "Come back when you can beat what my S13 came with out of the box."

Doesn't brag about it, I just happen to know how much it cost. He's in his 60s and it was his dream car as a kid.

The fact that he competes in the Barbados rally every year, obviously bar this year, would suggest that it would absolutely slaughter an S13 on a stage. It wasn't built for pub car parks.

Edit: They had mechanical issues last year, can't remember what, so didn't make the start, but here is the competitor list for 2018.

Ask me and Arry what we spent on our S13s?

Here’s something to bolster Nissans case for producing iconic cars

It’s not. But I want a 6 speed sequential gearbox now! His hollinger gearbox is incredible

On topic though, I’m thinking most iconic car is the Porsche 911 now

Probably for a series. It’s been made for years. Porsche owners just didn’t want it dropped.

I still think the single most iconic car has to be the Ferrari F40

Let me tell you a story ..........

Le Mans 2007 I find myself in Arnage, where all the nice cars go pose in the afternoon. We are strolling down the main drag, and having just seen an F40, spot another and go over to have a closer look. Noticed immediately that this car is a bit different - the intercoolers, lights, exhaust and even the bodywork and colour are different. I confirm this with Yakko, then I notice a bloke wander over to it with the keys in his hand. Conversation goes like this:

Doc: "Alright mate, your car is it??"
Bloke: "Yeah it is, what do you reckon??"
D: "Well, its nice, but we noticed the lights, intercoolers and stuff are different from an F40. What is it - an MR2 conversion or something??"
B: "Errm, well its actually an F40LM special edition"

Yep, I had just accused the bloke with probably the best example of an F40 ANYWHERE* of having an MR2.

The car pictured is an F40LM as well, funnily enough I can spot them a mile off these days
