I don't mean to knock Nissan, but in 14 years of owning a 200 I bet the number of people who knew what I was talking about, without seeing it, could be counted on one hand.
And of the ex CEO is anyone to listen to. Nissan are in trouble

I took the question to be about which manufacturer had consistently produced drool-worthy cars over the ages.

For me, that's Jaguar... and Lamborghini
For me Ferrari. Or Aston Martin.

As said it’s preferential. But iconic is where it typically has a cult status and is not so preferential

    Yes exactly drool worthy!

I agree Jaguars are beautiful. The XK 130/40/50 and e type are amazing.

The Ferrari 250 GTO and the Mercedes Gull Wing 300 SL are the best two cars ever made imo, nothing comes close for me, not even the Nissan 200sx S14a

I would also add the 250 GT California SWB and 288 GTO to the Ferrari List

JW the Alfa 8C and the Aston DB9 it’s hard to pick which is the most beautiful. Probably the 8C

Iconic according to Cambridge dictionary: very famous or popular, especially being considered to represent particular opinions or a particular time.

No doubt you have a great love for Jaaags and up until the mid 80s Id have fully agreed with you but then they started releasing some utter shit, they werent famous, popular and didnt represent anything other than rebadged Fords. The current F Type is a good car but is it the best of its class in any respect? If you took the badges off an F Pace would anyone be able to identify it?
Alfa are probably the same until the mid 80s and I wont even get started on the company that bought us the Sentra and the Qashqai

Lamborghinis though, 100%, the DNA is in every car theyve made since the 350GT, probably moreso than Ferrari TBH.

But would you drop the Urus into that? We all know underneath it’s the same as a Touareg, Q7, Cayenne, Bentayga.

Can you honestly say there were any decent Non V12 Lambo’s until the Gallardo came along?

Even then, Lamborghini allegedly started using Audi engines from the 5.2 V10

Remember a lot of people claimed the VQ35DE in the 350z was a Renault Engine

Which car manufacturer is most iconic ?

Ferrari V8s are iconic because they don’t have a cross plane crank like the burbling American V8s do, but a flat plane crank and they howl at high revs.

The Gallardo Superleggera is Amy Winehouse. She wasn’t “Pretty” quite striking mind and had an amazing voice, but had to pay more because she had lost so much weight. The Ferrari 458 was Kelly Brook, not such an amazing voice, but prettier to look at.

The Aston Martin DB9 is Kate Winslett ( every red blooded male want her when she was in Titanic... ) but as she got older, put on weight and you realised there were younger models with better looks coming up

The Escort Cosworth is Martine Mcutcheon. Originated in Essex.... We all liked her back then. But then it looked ropey, now we all want her like she was back then

I could go on forever with car / girl analogies. Mercedes Black series. Naomi Campbell. You want to get inside her then she will fark you up!!!

Citroen 2CV? Graham Norton. Gay, but won’t stop reappearing in public

Obviously we haven't all got the same tastes, but I've never seen the fuss with the 8C. It's a good looking car, but not a patch on a 2005 V8 Vantage. Oh, and it looks exactly like a GTM Corsa (Mini Metro based kit car) from the back.

I think you have to see an 8C in the flesh and close up to understand what it is and how its put together. It doesn't look like any kit car I've ever seen.

I've driven a 2005 Vantage and it was like driving a tractor. Agricultural is the perfect analogy....and not as good looking as an XKR TBF.

I agree with JW. The 8C in the flesh is automotive beauty

But the problem with most super cars. They only start to push your buttons when driven past the national speed limit

They didn't get the chassis right until 2007

I have seen an 8C in the flesh, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings I just happen to think a V8 Vantage is better looking. Was talking about looks, but does anyone know that an 8C doesn't drive like a tractor?

Have a look at a GTM Corsa, it wasn't meant as an insult, just an observation.

8C is awful to drive. As is my favourite Supercar. Porsche Carrera GT. it is horrendous
