Certificate of comformity
Hi does anyone know how I can obtain a certificate of comformity for my nissan s14? It's a 1994 model and I can't register in UK as I have no paper work what so ever. If anyone has some info would be much appreciated. Thanks

Basicly I bought an import s14 and the guy lost all paper work for it. Dvla won't register unless I have a certificate of comformity that proves the year of manufacture. I am in contact with nova because apparently this s14 was never declared and doesn't exist. So I am in process of doing that. The only this stopping the registration is a certificate to comfirm year of manufacture. And nissan won't help me at all.

If it's not on the VIN the plastic components are often stamped with the year of manufacture. Take the seatbelts out would be my first move.

I have the information on the plate and chassie number but for dvla it's not enough.they want either import paper or certificate of comformity. Such a pain. As I really don't want a Q plate

Just show them the export certificate, that's usually enough.

That's what I haven't got. According to nova the car was never declared in the UK. And the guy I got the car from won't reply and won't give import paper

Ah, that's a bit dodgy then.
As far as I'm aware no NOVA = no registration.

Well i spoke to nova they said if I send a letter attached to nova form explaining that I didn't import it I shouldn't pay any fees. I managed to get a certificate of comformity. Paying 175 pounds. We shall see now what happens.
