    42 day build

So picture this, it's the start of the 4th week of lockdown and I get the call I can start back at work part time. First day in and I get a message from a pal, 'hey man you interested in this shell for £100'

After a video call the shell was delivered to me (socially distancing) that afternoon.

Here starts the 42 days it's taken me to build the car from a rolling shell to a Mot'd car....

So here it is when it landed

    Yes another mk3 golf.

So next day I got stripping the bay of things I didn't need and got the other car in which is being used for parts.

Plan is to take the engine and box out while still attached to the front subframe.

I had to swap over the abs pipes and module (was 50/50 of putting the abs in)

Then it's the case of lift the shell off the engine and I can get into the abs then pop the engine in the new shell.

With engine out it got a quick clean and was ready to be lifted into it's new home.

Once in I got it all connected up and made sure it would start.

I hope you did more than this, or I would consider checking if your MoT tester is a real guy

    Pic heavy post*

So got the look placed in and it started up first time!
Next was dash in and test fitting wheels.

Also the brake clip arrived so I can now get brakes bled and clutch, this clip has caused a lot of physical and emotional pain.

    New wings arrived

And got the interior finished apart from miss coloured items but that will get fixed later.

And finally past its mot after a struggle with emissions and now I need to sand all the miss coloured panels for a show I have entered on 30th August haha no pressure.

Show was cancelled thankfully as works been crazy, unfortunately the clutch is now slipping so gearbox is due out!

I bought another engine as I am not convinced this one is 100%, thankfully it has a brand new clutch on it so bonus.

New engine will be rebuilt and swapped in at some point.
