    What size wheels?

Hi all, I'm Leigh and have only recently joined the site. I'm thinking about upgrading my 200sx s13's wheels as I've just had it re-painted and would like to know what size can you have without problems eg. rubbing etc.
The car is standard ie. suspension etc.
Any advise would be most appreciated.
    Leigh

It depends how much camber you want to run. I’m running 18 8.5 et30 with 215 tyres. Running maximum camber adjust on rear and camber bolts on front. The tyres just fit inside arch.

R33 GTR rims are a good fit. 9x17 et30 iirc so will probs need a small (10mm?) spacer to clear struts etc.

I ran a 225/45/17 front and a 245/40/17 tyre rear with lows and minimal scrubbage. Will want to relocate the front wiring loom in the drivers wheel arch though. Take the wing off, pull the loo up over the inner arch lip and secure, Job done!

Hi MEL, Thanks for that, definitely something to consider. I thought about using 225/45/17 all round. I've seen some Bola B1 wheels that I like, so may be the way to go.
Just checked out your thread and love your s13, black looks so cool!
    Cheers Leigh

Cheers bud, long time ago now lol

Any wheel can be made to fit, all depends on how much time/effort/monry you can throw at it

17s are a good compromise and 225/40/17 will give you roughly the same rolling radius as the original 195/60R15s.

Most 17s will fit over the standard brakes.

One thing rarely considered is how easy they are to keep clean.

I have Rota GRAs on one of my cars and they are a doddle to keep clean. They also haven't warped when I've hit potholes which is pretty much unavoidable nowadays.

It might be worth having the lips on your arches rolled

On an otherwise standard car ? Please no

There are few enough standard cars around without another one being ruined by split arches. I can understand the desire for bigger wheels as the standard 15s leave an unsightly wheel arch gap and lots of black sidewall but its easily reversible if someone wants to return the car to standard.

Split arches? what would you roll your arches with, a spade and a run up?

Unless you're after a specific wheel, R33s really are just about the best option. Can't beat OEM from something bigger and heavier.
