my rocker cover gasket is weeping/misting slightly...I intend to correct it asap, however would this be considered a "boost leak" I've noticed the oil has started to smell of fuel recently and wondered if there is a connection

No mate, it’s not. Many a running SR20 with a weeping rocker. Replacement outer gasket is still available from Nissan as 13270-65F00.

just take it off,clean it and smear a bit of silicone on it and put it back together.
