Cyclists - what do you oil the chain with?

I need to build my stamina up and figured, best way is to get my Mountain bike out, give it a through clean (which I’m quite handy at)

But what’s the best stuff to oil the chain, gears etc? I was wondering if chain oil for a chainsaw would be sufficient as it has no sling etc? What do you guys use?

I have helmet, cycling wear (shorts and shirt) and shoes, but never really used them. Should do while we can’t do anything else at the moment

I use muc off dry lube in summer and wd40 motorcycle chain wet lube if I ride in winter

Been using mine a lot this last month, 250 miles doing 10 - 12 every other night, almost as much in a month as all of last year

Your arse will hurt a lot.... the only way to stop it is to get more seat time, don't let it put you off

Wet oil isn't ideal.this time of year, will get crusted with dust and make a paste to mess up gears etc

Muc off wet in winter or wet weather, dry in summer, dry lube needs to be applied alot more, every ride.

Buy some endura padded shorts, the 12mm ones, they are bloody great. One of the best £30 I have spent on my bike.

Comma motorcycle spray chain lube. I've had the can for 30 years so may as well use it.
