Thing about everyone blaming on Chinese and bats and stuff ..........
The Chinese have had wet markets longer than there has been civilisation in Europe, Id wager theyve been chowing down on bats for a while too.
    No further comment your honour.

Didn't want to say til now, but my 70 year old dad has been in Hospital with it since early last week. They have been isolating since they came back from Madeira on the 13th March. They'd had the Ambulance out, but as ill as he was he didn't meat the criteria, 3 days later he did. It was Pneumonia that did it, but the Covid had weakened him and made him vulnerable. He'd also lost two stone in two weeks. Today they are seeing if he can cope without an Oxygen mask. So may be he's on the mend.

Anyway, the point is, earlier this week he sent a text and in it he said "Three done and gone", we assumed he meant three recovered and gone home. We were wrong. He finally cracked this morning when someone else died. He's in 4 bed ward (so called respiratory ward)and either 5 or 7 (Not clear from texts) have died on the ward in the last week.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd assumed that the people dying were in the ICU on ventilators.

Edit: Well there you go, I thought they'd see how he coped breathing on his own, but he's being discharged now.

Thanks Arry, he's home now, hopefully be able to wave from the end of the drive tomorrow. We've got lucky, so far.

It was just a shock to find out what is happening in the Hospitals and I don't mean any criticism of anyone involved, they must be s****ing themselves just going to work.

If the patient is above a certain age they get them to sign a do not resuscitate order, so there is no need to take them to ICU.

There are many factors that determine who gets what treatment not just age. Current and previous non covid relsted health history, smokers v non-smokers, age etc all play a part in deciding who gets what level of treatment

The hospitals up here are not busy. Some patients are still being asked to sign do not resuscitate orders, no doubt their deaths will go towards the national died "WITH" covid figures.

Try not to worry. You typically have 3 antibodies, one goes away and another stays persistent which might give a false positive result
