    Coilover spring rates

I'm just about to click buy on some BR Racing RM coilovers, but now I'm having last minute doubts about what spring rates to get.

The car is a stripped-out track toy, but road legal and driven to the track. I'm currently on Nismo S-Tunes which I understand are 5.4 / 4.5, with whiteline ARBs. I think these are great on the road, but a little too soft for the track.

I had decided on 8/6 for the BC Racing, but now I'm having doubts and wandering if this is too much. The next option down is 6/5.

Those of you that still frequent this forum, and do track work, what do you use? Am I just being a big fanny?

I should add, I run 17" wheels so I have a bit of sidewall compliance, plus the car is fully caged.

8/6 I’d say as your using it as a track car.

I enjoyed 8/6 in my old track 14. It’s preference but realistically unless you drive both rates back to back you’ll never know the difference.

    Stick with 8/6

Great, that's the reassurance I needed! Thanks.

I recently went from 6/5's to 8/6's springs, as I felt the 6/5's were a little soft on track...

Haven't tried the new setup much in anger but feels more responsive on the road and haven't noticed much difference in ride comfort.

Also on whiteline arbs, but running 18's.
