    5/40 synthetic.

When was the oil last done? I would stick some cheap stuff in it, run about for a but then dump it and put some better stuff in.

Syntium from ECP is good stuff. Doesnt break the bank either

Castrol edge is more of a commercial choice. Or Mobil 1

If you are feeling flush then get the Fuchs Titan Pro S.

Not to sure when oil was last changed. That's why I thought maybe do a flush with current oil or cheap stuff then put something real descent don't mind money as I'd rather have something really good in it. And the fact it's high mileage

I'd take the rocker cover off and have a look.

Fuchs Titan Pro S is what was recommended to me.

I got everything from Slide Motorsport, Opie Oils are great too.

Opie Oils told me not to put any engine flushes in the car as it could unblock any potential leaks.

They said to flush it out with a cheap oil and then put your chosen oil in.

Oil quality will depend on what your using the car for. No point putting high performance oil in a daily.

Depends what your daily driving is like lol!

I would rather the best. But not the Fuchs, its Fuching expensive.

I went from the top oil to the bottom, wasn’t suggesting bad quality.

The Ester based synthetics like Fuchs won’t degrade as much as hydrocracked synthetics and can go further between changes.

Very good oil. Used in F1 and has cooling technology. For the price you cant go wrong. My mate is a very good mechanic and uses it himself. He told me he saw a rise in oil pressure using it in his turbocharged v8 Winnie Bago

You should do a search on the SXOC for the Oil analysis thread, where Opie Oils in conjunction with Mark Ward took used oil samples away for analysis

I recall Silkolene (now called Fuchs) could easily do 13,000 miles between changes

I bearly did 1000 but it had been over a year. I believe normal synthetics lose viscosity and the detergents become ineffective. What is the time range on Fuchs?
