Anybody bought one of these Turbos?

    https://www.maxpeedingrods.co.uk/t25...71-gt2860.html

I just bought one, has great reviews!

I am still runing a stock t28, but not sure if this new turbo is the equivelent of a disco potato or a 2871, its obviously not a ball bearing turbo, so thought i would ask here before i go through all the hassle of putting it on, then finding out that its crap lol!

It's neither but maybe slightly more similar to the 2871R than the 2860RS.

Some people have good experiences with cheap Chinese Turbo's and some people have bad, let us know how you get on tho

That's exactly what my mechanic mate was saying. The fact that it also comes with a warranty is kind of reassuring.

I will be interested to see how quick it spools up.

What is the compressor wheel size on a stick t28? And trim, inducer, exducer sizes?

Yea realise the warranty is almost worthless right??

Unless you wanna consider returning a Turbo to Hong Kong?

Can't find the specs for the UK S14 turbo but IIRC it's the same size as the Japanese S14 but with a Journal bearing centre.

    S13 SR20DET: T-25, 60 trim 56mm BCI-1 compressor, 53.8mm 62 trim
    T-25 turbine, .64 A/R turbine housing. Journal
    bearings.

    Jap S14 SR20DET: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in T-04B housing,
    62 trim 53.8mm T-25 turbine. .64 A/R turbine housing.
    Ball bearing center section.

S15 SR20DET: Same as S14, but with Inco turbine wheel (instead of
GMR), cast divider wall between turbine discharge and
    wastegate.

    Pulsar GTi-R: T-28, 60 trim 60 mm BCI-1 compressor in standard T-3
    housing. 79 trim 53.8mm Inco T-250 turbine wheel .86
    A/R turbine housing. Journal bearings.

At that price its gotta be worth a punt!
Just be sure that you don't have any oil restrictor in the feed, as the journal bearing will need lots of slippery stuff compared to the ball bearing journal!

Buy it, get the centre balanced by a reputable place, and run it. The Chinese turbos have come a long way in the last few years and work well

Judging by the sizes and the advert saying it, it's gt2871r size

if it goes wrong at least you havent spent a ton of money on it, probably won't be as efficient as a well known brand but hey if it makes the right noises then jobs a gooden....

some of those reviews are a bit suspect though haha
