    Diff seals

So my diff has puked all over the passenger side of the car. Exhaust, wheel well, subframe, you get the idea! It stinks. Pretty sure a seal has failed by the way its spread everywhere. Does anyone know the sizes before i take the diff out to investigate? And is this something that people have seen before?

Can i change the two seals with the diff in? Just pop out the half shafts?

pop the half shafts out with a lever bar, a jolt type action works the best. then hammer a thin screw driver between the old seal and the casing and pry the seal out. they are about £20 each from Nissan last time I enquired (ages ago) personally I would just change the one that's leaking and not disturb the other.

if you have 5 bolt shafts just undo all the inner bolts and push it up out the way.

Would you just use genuine Nissan parts? I was going to do both sides. See how much they are when my Local stealer actually answers the phone!!

a seal is a seal so if you can source one through a different outlet for much cheaper then go for it.

Nissan should have them as they are the same on all the diffs.
