    S13 Leaky Brake Master Cylinder

Hi, Be grateful for any advice. My BM has developed a leak at the brake booster end seal where there is fluid stain on the booster cover (Low reservoir warning light came on). What's best: try to get it refurbished (tried looking for replacement seals kit but no luck anywhere) or replace it with a salvaged one (but that will be equally old). My BM is a Tokico BM44 and car is 1990 S13 with ABS. Any suggestions appreciated.

That's a BM50 right? My BM44 is 15/16" diameter and BM50 is 1" so about 14% more surface pressure from cylinder on pipes and ABS unit, which are getting on for 30 years old. I don't want to put over pressure on rest of system. I can't find a Tokico BM44 cylinder repair kit anyway so perhaps a 1 for 1 swap is best.

If you're that scared about the lines/abs unit I suggest you replace all of those first!

P.S the pressure will be the same for the same braking force, you'll just have less pedal travel with an s14 BMC

Thanks Slamz. I think rest of brakes are good. You don't happen to know if the S14 BMC bolts on the booster in the same position as my current S13 one and the 2 outlet ports connect to the 2 brake lines to the ABS unit in the same position? I've seen BMCs marked as for ABS and non ABS but not sure of the difference: the number of outlet ports perhaps?

I have a BM44 that came out of a R33 skyline if that’s any use to you?

Thanks. Is it one for an ABS brake system?

Thanks looked at item but it doesn't look like my BM44. Mine is for an ABS car and just has 2 outlets to brake lines on the side, nothing else. Thanks anyway.
