Yes but it takes 30 days for some reason so still have it til 26th of June. It's a HP TANGO. I had my phone right next to it trying to connect it. I'll probably just leave the thing in the corner of the room collecting dust.

Had some hilarity in the past with the HP home kit as well, one of my neighbours got one and it did something similar now i come to remember it.
IIRC i used the routers wifi one button link up thing, when the app on the computer requested connection i ran down and pushed the button and it fixed it.

Dunno if your one has this facility but it might be worth a shot if it does.
Funnily enough HP's business/professional line of printers dont **** you about quite as much as there consumer kit - prob because they know we would all ditch them if they did. That said, i have seen worse, much worse

Well it won’t connect right next to it.

I've gone with zen, bit pricey but apparently it's going to be fast. It switches on tomorrow apparently.

I am moving over to plusnet tomorrow... er today- 25th...
Main reason, i want my own router - Vodafone dont allow that, ahh but yes they do the chap said on the phone when i was talking them after they got wind i was leaving.. well if they have a policy of not allowing you to have your own router/modem but... secretly do then how can they be feking suprised when folk leave them.

Anyway, i have a draytek vigor 130 from the bay turn up which will be getting used instead of plusnets own unit - my actual router is on a VM as pfsense on my little hp microserver so it will connect to the vigor modem and the wan>lan will work like that.
Wireless is all done separately, two managed APs hanging off a 10 port POE switch - totally separate from the router and modem.
DNS is handled by an install of pihole (obviously) - thats a must.
And finally proxy courtesy of squid on the pfsense VM for shits n giggles.

Yes, quite the complicated home build. Dont do this lol.

I'm on plusnet badged as John Lewis with an English JL call centre for support.

The plusnet router is surprisingly good and still trouble free (after 8 months).

£20 a month with a 40 quid voucher for JL instore.

More of a pizza/chinese muncher myself like.

Anyway, my new sever is in, new install of pfsense and bloody hell i have picked up nearly 5Mb a second on speedtest. My old pfsense was hitting 100% on the old server and must have been throttling the download speed.
Whats even more interesting is its now faster than the stock plusnet router and the old stock vodaphone setup - by about 4Mb/s - ok i am now on a vigor 130 modem with a monster server behind it but even so.. quite odd.

It's certainly working fast and I haven't changed anything else so all good.
