Standard length wheel studs and 5mm spacers

Do people run longer studs. I have r33 gtr wheels with 5mm spacers, wondering what you can get away with on standard studs

I run longer front studs with 5mm spacer with r34 gtr wheels. You running coilovers?
I was fine untill I swapped out stock suspension and opened a can of worms.

Yeah run Coilovers, I think someone has Swapped the studs previously. After buying a new bearing the studs are shorter on the new bearing

I have standard studs with Rota GTR-D 12" ET20 and 5mm spacers. At least with these wheels the lenght is good.

although not a great job to change them out but buying a full set of extended studs for £35odd and the piece of mind for me was a no brainer....
its my own opinion but 5mm of thread holding a wheel on which undergoes huge amounts of rotational forces just isnt enough, at work ive seen fixings fail under under shear stresses with similar thread depths.

I don't know what the thread depth is exactly but I get 6.5 turns

Try taking one of the nuts off and putting a small screw driver from the base of the cone on the wheel and mark the top of the stud. Then measure with a tape measure to find out the length of useable stud.

Loads of people have run standard studs with 5mm slip on's before.
