Regarding XJs, don't buy a cheap one for £600

You can get a mint UK XJ8 4.0 sovereign that has had its cam chain tensioners done and has almost everything working for £1200.

I know this because I had one and sold it for £1200 a couple of years ago.

The only ones that have any resale value are the XJRs and the Daimler Supers and they really aren't worth the extra IMO.

I put 8,000 miles on mine, spent £1000 on fixing it/maintenance over about 15 months and I absolutely bliddy fecking loved it !!

You are a heathen, D ! A 70s Crewe Roller is a thing of great beauty as long as no one has done this to it !!

I like being unique. I understand why people like all different cars but even if you punch me in the eyes, I'd still think that roller would look horrible.

I appreciate the engineering in Rollers but would never buy one as they are hideous Would get a Range Rover instead

i was driving one of those proper minging 4x4 rolls royce cullinder or whatever they are called yesterday and although comfy they are proper tacky.the unofficial game must be to choose the worst colour schemes.

those 70's spec rollers handle like total boats. I tried to scandi-flick one once and it felt like it was up on 2 wheels. the bonnet basically points at the sky if you floor the accelerator pedal. they do have nice floor mats though.

Diesel Lux barge has to be an Audi A8 doesn't it ?

    Something like this...

    https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...01809080290597

That one needs a proper clean, mind you.

Wouldn't give JLR the steam off me piss after speaking with their customer services over my disco 3...

Especially avoid the 2.7 v6 tdi at all costs...

Lexus gs or ls would get my money

If you buy anything with a Land Rover badge on it you automatically lose the right to complain when it inevitably breaks down.
It's like moving to Lancashire and moaning when it starts raining.

I didnt bring them up as they arent 90's but I own one, its easily the best car Ive owned and probably the best Ive driven.

    Twin turbo 5.0 V10 with 310hp and 550 lb/ft
Adjustable air suspension, 4 damping settings
Torsen 4WD, brake assist, intelligent 4 zone breezeless climate control
    Double glazed, electric heated/aircon/massage seats
    155+mph, sub 7 secs to 60, 2800KG and 40MPG

Handles like a much smaller car but rides like a Rolls, whats not to like? Just get it done, they are that good I nearly bought a spare the other day

Insane mpg.... even after a remap my 2.5 tdi touareg (v10 is 2x my cylinder head and turbo etc) I can't get more than 35mpg on a motorway at 60mph.

They're pretty similar weight, so must be the aerodynamics playing a huge part in the efficiency

Doesn't it have a trick where it shuts down half the cylinders when they are not needed ?
