New owner S14a touring auto rattle

    Hi guys,

Just got my 200sx delivered this morning, bought unseen from the other end of the country. Was cheap and advertised as non runner. Well it runs and started first time, however it has this awful rattle when I rev it.

    New engine time?

Engine is pretty easy to remove tbh, can leave the turbo and plenum attached and remove as a unit with the gearbox.

Ok, is there a recommend brand of bearings and any other jobs worth doing while the engine is out?

Acl or king bearings are decent I believe. What you do depends on how far you strip the engine and your budget

It’s got an auto box so power isn’t going to be that high to need forged internals. Really just want to get the thing working at the moment.

Plans are intercooler/coilovers/intake/downpipe/set of wheels and a remap for now. Longer term I may manual swap/chase the 400bhp figure.
