Unless you go for H-Dev map it's pretty pointless to get 550cc injectors. You might aswell go for 740cc so you don't need to change them again if you want more power...

I think 555's are plenty unless you are looking for mega power

Those look more like crank figures tbh.
I don’t understand the injector discussion because the fuel pump has failed. Chuck a walbro in. You can run up to 13/14 psi on the standard map and with the right supporting mods including removing the cats (or at least using a sports cat and a free flowing down pipe) it’ll transform how the car feels.
Don’t bother with injectors until you’re swapping the turbo out imo. Both the standard injectors and turbo max out within 20-30bhp of each other.

It is true though, Hdev 2a runs the 555's to give extra headroom and run at a lower duty cycle than standard, but standard injectors can and do supply enough fuel to max out a t28 or t28r, I know this 'because I did it' I ran standard injectors (that were flowed and clean) for 4 years at approaching 100% duty cycle at times, maxing out the standard t28, and when I stripped my engine down to forge it, there was zero sign of det or any lean running on the pistons, head, or cylinder walls. 555's are a pointless upgrade in all honesty if you're just running a standard turbo, and a hell of a lot of people will agree with this, which is why 740's are almost always recommended over standard as they'll support the 'common' next turbo step such as a 2871r.
Congratulations on having a Hdev map though, I've also got one, sitting in my garage in a box if that somehow adds more relevance to my post?
I'd be surprised if 550's even made that power at the crank unless the Dyno is super generous!

The standard t28/t28r is out of it's efficiency range at 18psi, standard injectors can flow enough fuel for this though as long as they're not full of crud or falling apart.
The car never went on a dyno with this setup, but was regularly checked on the road, it was up near 300bhp I expect. It was on a Hdev 1a chip at this time with a few tweeks
555's give you the extra headroom I admit, so should be 'safer' than standard injectors. But it's all down to the map and the person setting it up!
Exactly that. If he's wanting the 'next step' above 300bhp, he'll probably go down the proven route of a 2871 or similar, in which case 740's are the best option. Looking back, mine was the most fun compared to cost and hassle at 1a on standard stuff, so I'd recommend the op just keeps it simple!
Sorry for derailing the thread so much!
The only reasons to run 555cc injectors with a 2871r are if you get some cheap or you plan on running a chip.
740’s will allow you to max out the 2871

740s always unless your just planning modest grunt, 550s are ok but run out of puff to soon and with a decent blower that come quickly.
If you dont want say more than 340 then 550s are ok but going up to the 400 mark and you will want 740s
