    Federal rsr question

    Alright chums,

I know a lot of people on here used these tyres so thought it the best place to ask.

I’m wanting some 245/35 and some 275/35, the 245’s have 2 options which I assume are compound. 140 and 220, is 140 the stickier? It’s going to be a fast road car so I might just get the 220 so it lasts longer?

Also if I’m wanting a 275 it’s going to be and rsr-pro? I can’t find any difference in these other than the speed rating is higher and xl load, has anyone used these?

    Thanks.

The lower tbe tread wear the softer they are. The 140’s should be stickier in that case.

do the federals still have the the problem with the 'line' where they start to come apart at the join?

id be tempted to try the drifting tyres like like Westlake /tri ace etc.. as they are super sticky and 80 odd quid each, actually that is what im going to try on mine if I do some track driving next year.

I have RS-Rs on my Fiesta and the grip level is amazing but they are very soft. One day at an airfield (admittedly the surface was quite abrasive) nearly finished them off. Not sure what compound I have, think there was only one option.

I've heard they're better on lighter cars tbh, might wear out even quicker on something heavier and RWD.
