Actually, if you don't support them somehow from rattling around, they tend to crack the sparkplug...
Usually, CA18 guys drill the coil cover to fit them tight and secure.

Maybe look at the normal 1.8t coil packs as there quite a bit shorter

Nice stock looking, dusty crap keepy-outy coil cover...

Hidden Splitfire goodness (but maybe not as good as once was)...

Lanky VAG (2l TFSI), R8 would be worse if taller...

On the CA they must be really bad as I ran these splitfires (SR) on my CA and they sat pretty high.

the R8 ones are the same as the TFSI or so im led to believe.

was there much modifications to the sump to get an evo engine in your S13??

the audi TT coils sit lower than the TFSI so maybe they will work. but then they would probably be the same as every other VW/seat 1.8t coils if you know someone with one of those.

That would figure as I found photos of the R8 coils in a TFSI and they sat at the same height.

A fair bit of work on the sump was done.
The bits needed to make it fit were to take about an inch out of the depth of the bowl to stop it sitting too low and risk smacking it into the floor, a wing was added to make up for the lost volume. also the back of the bowl was modified to clear the subframe.

A whole shed load of other mods were done to make it anti-surge.
