    Started playing with carbon fibre

Thought I’d have a go at messing with carbon fibre as obviously everyone loves carbon

Il let the pics do the talking and there aren’t any finished pictures yet as there not finished

    Laying a tack coat
    Laying the carbon
    Pulling a vacuum
    After pealing
    First coat of resin

It has been great. Could you explain the process a bit?

Yeah it’s pretty simple but being the first time I’ve done it I’m far from an expert on it but here goes

Sand the plastics with a corse sand paper
Mix up some epoxy and paint it onto it and leave it an hour to go sticky
Cut out some bits of carbon and lay it onto the plastics and trim as best it leaving some overlap
Push the carbon as best you can into the shape
Mix more epoxy and put just enough on to wet the fabric and no more
Cover it in perforated release film and breather fabric
I used big sandwich/ziplock bags and pull a vacuum and leave it for like 5 hours
Peel all the consumables off and trim with a dremel
Sand the big defects and scuff the surface up
Mix more resin and put a coat on then leave an hour and put another coat on
    Sand it nice and flat
    Paint with clear coat

That’s how Ive done/doing it anyway

Nice work. Have you had a chance to fit any of them yet?
