LR Discovery 3's - talk to me - V8's specifically

Changing personal circumstances mean the requirement for a car with more than 5 seats is on the horizon.

Not interested in a diesel, got a fuel card from work so petrol is OK with me.

Pros and cons. Sensible alternatives (seen a Q7 4.2 V8 which could also be a consideration)

    Pros - it has a V8
Cons - everything attached to the V8

    Hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha hwhahahwhwhhwhwhwhwhwhwhwhahahahhahwahhwhahwhahwhw hwhwhwhw....

Sorry, can't help but laugh manically when someone considered one of these pieces of shit.

I never thought I'd find a worse car to own than a disco 2, but the 3 was a ordeal (and I never even got to drive it)

They are 100% designed never to be worked on by anyone but a fully tooled up LR garage or specialist, the most simple of repairs is a gigantic ball ache due to the design (packing everything under bodywork that has to be removed)

That said, they are like heroin - great while working...

From my experience full main dealer service history means nothing, if anything more likely to fail as LR refuse to acknowledge the known faults and won't preform any preventative maintainance.

And thir customer service is even.worse than BT

    Just seen the q7 option.....

I'm currently rocking a Vw touareg, although not the most frugal of vehicles is quite a nice daily driver.

Everything works as it should. 2005 with no rust anywhere and the heated seats go right up to your shoulders.

If the q7 is anywhere near as good (should be as they both share a number of parts) then it should certainly be leagues ahead of the disco in your list.

Think the q7 has 7 seats but lacks the proper low range gearbox of the touareg

I've heard the Disco 3s are riddled with issues now they are older and a bitch to fix.

Get a v8 Disco 1, they are badass

I've already said I will buy a roof rack and get a couple of seats bolted to that but we would still need another 7 seater!

Pretty sure Grand Cherokees are 5 seaters. Commander is a seven seater but are pretty rare as they are fooking ugly and look like they came out of 1987

    Just bought a Cherokee myself
