    Gas Monkey 240z

Has anyone watched the Gas Monkey episode on discovery with the 240z Datsun powered by sr20det , was wondering if anyone had a bit more info on the spec of the engine or pic of the power graph , it made 390 on pump gas .

Sounds like it should be making loads more power with the turbo and injectors fitted. Gone quite hi-comp on the engine though.

It's mainly a show car though, so the power it makes is almost inconsequential.

They could have done away with the airbox and pipework, just put a trumpet on the compressor house - could adonise the trumpet and turbo compressor wheel to match the paintwork then.

probably started out life as a DE and they bashed a turbo on it, seems common in America, then the name got lost in translation and became a DETT instead of a DE+t.

"With more power than stock, you need a drivetrain to match it. A Silvia 5-speed transmission is more than up to the task"

    Not so sure about that

Can't even afford a proper turbo engine to start off with?

Are the DE's missing oil squirters for the pistons or anything?

It was a DET motor to start with.

ok, I never read the article.

just figured that might be why they used 9.5.1 CR..

It's probably a mistake as CP don't do an off the shelf 9.5:1 piston for the SR20...
