Sitting in one bow at ford while booking my ranger in for oil pump recall.....

Something doesn't seem right, it took me a while to put my finger on it...

The hand brake is on the wrong side of the centre console, and it's a very strange voice of shape, looks right when it's on and bent funny when off and in the driving position

The Toyota Altezza I just bought as a replacement for the S13 has the handbrake on the wrong side too. It feels very weird reaching over the console to pull it

Very common when cars swap from LHD to RHD. Same with my 996

(stock photo of a similar interior to mine)

But it doesn't bother me TBH.

But notice the angle of the stick, the porches, lexus etc have the handle "rest" in the level position and angle when applied, the mustang looks backwards...

That would be mildly irritating after a while

The Mustang looks are also growing on me.

Closest I can find to a modern day s14a is the 228i M Sport.

Whats far more annoying is trying to change gear when you have something in the cup holders. Stupid lazy tight arse American designers

Yeah thats what i though, it was in the back of one of the mags.
Apparently Fords new boss thinks cars are crap and trucks are the only thing worth pursuing (in yankie-land of course)

the 2018 v8's with the ten speed automatic work quite well, intake mods and nitto sticky tyres people are getting low 11 second 1/4 miles times
I don't do automatics, but when they throw down times like that nearly stock it got my attention

The 'masterplan' is dont compete where you cant win. Its not worth spending millions on developing cars just to have something in that segment. Mustang & F150 etc are high volume, Fiesta and Fusion are not now as 'imports' are probably the bigger sellers (Toyota/Honda/VW). So if you convert that the Europe, Fiesta and Focus do well as does Transit, Mondeo/Galaxy, not so much.

But how much does the USA dev and approval cost on a car they have already developed for Europe? It's not like starting from scratch.

I guess its just as much to do with not having a vehicle that sells the most. The new guy in charge doesnt want a model to be the 5th best selling brand in its class, he wants to be No1 and its easier to take you ball home and not play then play hard and win

but they'll still continue to make the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo for Europe though right??

Over here with all the new pollution laws being brought in across Europe I can see the market going more the Japanese way than the American way.
    Small, economic and environmental cars.

This was covered at the end of one of this months car mags, the head of Ford is some new numptie that has a habit of slashing products and workforces and also is not a true car persons as before Ford he had not been in a car environment.

As the Yanks cannot understand that shit the size of a bus is not what everyone with half a brain wants they keep buying these monstrous items by the bucket load - fords new numptie therefor kills all sensibly sized stuff made for over there.
