For the time being. I dont see the Mondeo being around much longer if they kill off the Fusion in the states. Its too big for most families these days (Focus does most people) and its not posh enough to match BMW/Audi/Merc.

I've always wondered why the Mondeo has still sold for all these years given I agree with your logic above.

Most of our works Pool cars that where Ford and Hyundai have been replaced by Vauxhalls, which are utterly shit to drive, I can't understand who buys them.

Part of the mondeos problem is that (along with the rest of the range), its been growing over the years.

The Ka is the same size as a Fiesta used to be.
The Fiesta is now Focus sized.
    The Focus is Mondeo sized.
    The Mondeo is Granada sized.

Soon they'll probably push a new mini-mini in at the bottom and retire the Mondeo.

Ford aren't the only manufacturers doing it.

The Mondeo is huge. Has been for ages now. Mother in law's 2008 car is a seriously wide / long car.

We used to mock the American's for their over-sized cars, here's a few that are shorter than the current Mondeo (according to Wikipedia).

its clickbait because an s14 is not like an s13. so you would need 2 comparable cars.

Nope, Ford do not back it. They also dont on the New Fiesta ST. I wont go mad anyway as the engines dont like to go over 400bhp.
